Mort Support

Pitching a flagship partnership with a Fortune 100 company

Mort Support came to me with a less traditional ask: they aren’t interested in VCs. They want to build solid partnerships with their customers.

The founders, Rebecca and Jay, have been building their solution to simplify post-death administration for a few years. With a working product and a profound mission, they want to bring their tech directly to the source of the problem.

Giving context to the problem that Mort Support solves: millions of accounts for grief-stricken family members.

Together, we built a built a partnership deck that tells a compelling emotional story about the difficulties their customers have and how big the need is for a better solution.

This deck took a delicate touch for a few reasons:

  • Death is always a sensitive subject and we don’t want to alienate anybody,

  • We want to keep the company’s customers and their needs front of mind,

  • But, ultimately, this is a business decision because customers leave due to painful account closure experiences.

So we walked the line between appealing to the customer experience and impact to the bottom line.

Demonstrating Mort Support’s impact with proven success metrics.

Step 2: A compelling, immersive, client-branded demo
Allowing them to immediately visualize Mort Support seamlessly integrating into their existing customer experience.

The Mort Support team wanted a video of their working product. To be as effective as possible, I researched the client’s existing processes and brand, then re-designed Mort Support’s product to match, focusing on good UX and using a combination of the client’s existing language and Mort Support’s delicate touch.

After receiving the updated product from the developer, I recorded and edited the entire process, refined to the client’s needs and Mort Support’s sensibilities. The result was a concise, persuasive, 55-second video of the customer’s process on mobile.

Demo not shown, confidential.
